Deep Water Unpiggable Pipeline Inspection

The Challenge

A Subsea Operator needed ILI services for a subsea pipeline that had no history of mechanical/intelligent pigging. The probability risk-factor of a mechanical/intelligent tool becoming stuck or immobile in the pipeline was significant.

Our solution

Through a full and comprehensive assessment of the Subsea Operator’s specifications and unique platform layout, Intero found it imperative to develop a specially designed and tailored tool to ensure the least amount of risk possible. A full plan was then established, proposing a significantly beneficial timeline for the client, outlining procedure details, tool design & build timeline, execution phase and final reporting to meet customer ILI criteria.

Large Diameter Pipeline Inspection

The Challenge

The main challenge for this customer is the complexity of the pipelines. Most of them are short distance (under 100m length) and large diameter. Next to that he had several other challenges regarding the integrity of the pipelines. Since the terminal was built approx. 1960 there are not only corrosion issues on the pipeline but also some construction damage was detected by Intero which urgently needed appropriate measures.

Our solution

We inspected a large diameter pipeline using the highly innovative ultrasonic phased array technology. This product was specifically developed for large diameter pipeline, in product, at a Tank Terminal in the Netherlands.

Offshore: Unpiggable Flare Line Inspection

The Challenge

Having such a large size of pipeline in an offshore environment tends to make the execution of work more challenging, not only due to the complex pipe configuration but also with the work place environment, availability of resources, restricted space, multiple activities to be coordinated and executed offshore restrictions and safety precautions.

Our solution

As a specialized service provider for turnkey solutions of non-piggable & challenging pipelines, Intero Integrity gladly took up this challenge. In close cooperation with the client’s asset integrity team and operations support team, a custom bi-directional pigging methodology was engineered and developed.
