Traditional ILI inspections can become unfeasible when run in situations involving low flows or pressures. The inspection challenge is often compounded when features such as back-to-back tight radius bends, unbarred tees or irregular valves are present. These more unique pipeline segments are deemed challenging to inspect and have historically been limited to integrity assessment methods such as direct assessment, hydrostatic testing, or costly modifications for more traditional free-swimming ILI inspections.
